Not long after Baron Aelfric and his men arrived here they fought with a beastly spider larger than a horse that they found had taken up residence in the inn when they first explored its ramshackle frame. Its strong bite and poison claimed several souls and it crawled down the well where the marketplace stands now, but since it has not been seen it is assumed that it crawled out of the well and back to whatever Hell it came from… but we would all surely appreciate knowing it had been put to rest once and for all!
Oh yes, in late winter two horrible beasts came into camp late one evening and proceeded to cause havoc. Many blades slashed the beasts but it seemed that their wounds sealed themselves and many men fell. They returned again two weeks later and carried off two men and the last two sheep that the inn had. If you could take care of that, you'd be pretty well known, that's for sure!
There is a woman in white that roams the beach some nights, but not a soul knows where she hails from. If you approach her and hear her scream you are done for! In fact, the very barge you came in on had an entire crew and compliment that were lost to the her not a month ago!
It is said that vast treasures and knowledge could be found in the lost castle home of the two surviving adventurers from the Company of the Crow. Legend says that it is secreted away atop a knob in a forest clearing.
Legend says The Black Goat dwelt in the forests on this part of the Tears, and some strange things have definitely been seen to the southwest in the Mistelms.
